¿ Kultur?Big Ben war ursprünglich der Spitzname der großen, 1856 gegossenen Glocke im Turm derHouses of Parliament, benannt nach Sir Benjamin Hall, dem damaligen Chief Commissioner of Works. Heute wird der Name für die große Uhr und den Turm verwendet. Das Schlagen der vollen Stunden des Big Ben wird außerdem vor bestimmten Radio- und Fernsehnachrichten eingespielt.
